How to Choose TV Antenna?
March 10,2022
In the last blog, we talked about what we should pay attention to when installing an outdoor antenna. Today, as a professional Telescoping Tv Antenna Pole supplier, let's talk about how to choose a TV antenna.

Why does the TV antenna stand high?
The earth is a sphere, and the arc surface of the sphere greatly limits the propagation distance of TV and radio waves.
Obviously, the higher the TV transmitting antenna, the greater the coverage. Therefore, the TV station always tries to raise the antenna as high as possible.
TV antennas are generally mounted on iron towers more than 100 meters or even hundreds of meters high.
As the height of the TV Tower is limited, the TV broadcasting of each TV station can only cover a certain area. Generally, TV users can only watch TV programs sent by local TV stations. At present, most areas can only run or broadcast a set of TV programs by themselves, and the TV collection is naturally less. In the future, with the development of the TV industry, more TV channels will be opened in each region and more TV stations will be closed.
How to choose a TV antenna?
-
Select according to the distance between the receiving place and the TV station.
Generally, within 5km from the TV station, the TV signal is strong, and you can watch normally only by using a single pull rod antenna; Within 10km from the TV station, you can watch normally by using various indoor antennas; Within 10-20km from the TV station, you can watch normally by using a simple outdoor antenna with low gain; In the area 20km away from the TV station, the TV signal is weak, so it is necessary to erect a high gain directional outdoor antenna with excellent performance; The farther away from the TV station, the higher the antenna needs to be erected, and the higher the gain of the antenna is required.
-
Select according to the sensitivity of the TV.
High sensitivity, that is, TV sets with strong reception capacity have relatively low requirements for antennas. The sensitivity of domestic TV sets is higher than that of imported TV sets, so the requirements of domestic TV sets for antennas are lower. In areas far away from TV stations, imported TV sets need to adopt high-gain antennas.
The signal strength of color TV is required to be 50% higher than that of black-and-white TV to ensure stable viewing. When the signal is weak, the color is unstable, sometimes no or light. Therefore, color TV sets have higher requirements for antennas than black-and-white TV sets.
-
Select according to the environmental conditions of the receiving place.
In areas with two or more TV channels, which are generally the case in cities at present, dual-channel antenna or full channel antenna should be considered first; Remote rural areas generally receive TV signals from a certain direction, usually only one channel. The antenna of a single channel with strong directivity should be selected, and there is no need to blindly pursue the full channel antenna.
In the prosperous urban areas and mountainous areas with many tall buildings, due to the influence of tall buildings and mountains, the viewing effect is not good even if it is not far from the TV station. Therefore, the antenna with strong directivity and anti-ghosting should be selected. In the vast rural areas (except mountainous areas), due to the lack of industrial appliances, the electromagnetic interference is much smaller than that in urban industrial areas, so it is unnecessary to consider the anti-interference ability when selecting antennas.
